Thank you Robert. I discovered that i was completely unable to help others anymore if i do not 'help' myself first. I think especially in the West we need to emphasis this. Because your message could be wrongly interpreted as ' don't take care of yourself others are more important than yourself'.I am sûre you heard the story of thedalaï-lama when it took him few minutes when he first heard about self hatred. Yes in the West with all that compétition wé put a lot of pressure on our shoulder just because wé think it will be the way tofget loved :). Anyway please do not forget to remind people that they also di server their own compassion. 🙏

When we develop Bodhicitta for self, we are developing Bodhicitta for all beings. This really cannot be separated. Of course, as part of this we must take care of our own traumas in life first. We cannot help anyone if the pain is clouding our life. Taking care of self is very important. It is part of building our foundation in Spiritual Practice. Once we decide to awaken, through great compassion, it is only natural that we will want to do this for the benefit of all. Altruism arises naturally in our lives, even for all those who have harmed us. Even so, we must protect our mind until we are able to weather the storms brought about by this life.
