Hi Robert, maybe a subject for an other video. But when i engage in a spiritual practice immediately the ego kicks in and adds his intention like : ' cool i'll get Wiser, i ll get happier, i'll get this i'll get that.. ' this ruines the authenticité of my intention so i just prefer not to practice as it is based on a corrupted intention. Any advice on this? Stay aware of this ego speach intention until it fades away? Already tried but damned it has hard skin 😅

Thank you for your comment. It will provide a basis for what I will be talking about in my next podcast. This is a very important point to understand.

Maybe try thinking that you will give wisdom or give happiness or simply give by having an open heart and mind. Spiritual Practice is not for ego, it is for the benefit of all. This is why starting with Bodhicitta is so important. To start with an authentic motivation, we must never think about what we will get out of doing meditation. We awaken by opening our hearts and mind to reality, a reality that has eluded our egotistical view. When we awaken, we change everything throughout all of the cosmos and beyond. It changes the causes and conditions for everyone. We must never think that we will get something when we generate our intention to awaken. We must do this because we have realized that this is our opportunity to actually do something that will make a difference, helping everyone. True Bodhicitta is a nondual aspiration to help us all realize our real condition in that bright light of Dharmakaya.

hi Roberto, thank you for sharing. Few questions about mantra :

- any différence between chanting and repeating it internal?

- just repeating without knowing or understanding it or puting any intention would do the same work?

- i have always noticed in méditation that simultaneous group practice is more powerfull than everybody doingbit seperately in its corner is that the same for mantra? Willing to shedule a group practice? ;)

- i was chanting the vajra guru mantra for some years because it was kind of calming my mind until i realized that chanting whatever sound in a repetitiv manger brought me the same calm . So i concluded that it was more the fact repeating something that was a diversion for my mental activity. And i must say I was pretty sad about this conclusion because mantras kind of lost their 'magic'. Would you have something to say about it?

Well, the point of chanting such a mantra is not really about calming the mind. If you delve into the seed syllables, OM AH HUNG is body, speech and mind, VAJRA GURU PEMA SIDDHI is Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, with realization, and HUNG is mind. With this mantra we are consciously making the effort to change our mind, to become realized beings. Saying it out loud is more energetic and therefore more powerful. Chanting in groups is more powerful still. The point of meditation in general is to open our hearts and mind. Energetic practices, such as the Guru Rinpoche mantra or the Vajrasattva mantra can yield big results. We need to internally engage in this energy, preparing ourselves for enlightenment or removing obstacles. Be present with each sound and don't let it become something that simply puts you in a state of mental complacency. This was a very good question. Thank you.

Thank you Robert for your answer. Let me complete my question then i remember a teaching i attendez with sogyal Rinpoché someone asked this, is the actual sound /language important because many people Sings sanscrit or Tibetan mantra without understanding the meaning. His answer was 'its like phone you don't understand how it works but it works. Well i was not convinced by this explaination. I was more convinced when i experienced by myself that sounds corresponding to each chakra actualy make this chakra kind of vibrate with it and as far as i understood those sounds are not linked a language but more to the body or energetic body. Many of those chakra sounds are Incorporated in mantra and makes them work on the body? For other words I am still convinced that if there is no proper intention and linked to the understanding of the mantra it is kind of useless to repeat it 😅 ?

In the beginning, it is not important if we know how this works. As our capacity increases, we are able to utilize our knowledge through empowerments. This helps us super-charge the practice. When we go a little bit further, when we realize the Nature of Mind, then we remain at ease and the practice becomes one of infinite potentiality, even though we no longer visualize the practice with mind. Like so many Spiritual Practices, the correct answer is "It depends". Blessings
