Life itself is dangerous, if we do not prepare ourselves for death. In the death bardo, we can discover that we are actually indestructible. If we have not prepared ourselves, however, then we go wherever our karma propels us, only to continue our suffering in one of the six realms. We must make the effort, take advantage of this precious human existence, while we have the chance. It is very difficult to become awakened in the other realms, even if we find ourselves within the god realm. Being human means we are able to see why we must awaken. We are smart enough to see the traps found in all the realms of existence, why we become bound to cyclic existence.
