Good question. It depends upon how strong your motivation has become. If you think about it, our consciousness transmigrates. Within this consciousness is an awareness related to our karma, which means our actions leave an imprint. If we condition ourselves with the Aspiration to Awaken, through meditation and other means, then it becomes much easier to regain our Spiritual Practice in the next lifetime. I was able to regain my Spiritual Practice in this lifetime by paying attention to my intuition, or Buddha Nature. This brought me back to the Dharma, even though I grew up in a part of the world where the Dharma is rare. This is explained more fully in my book 'The Frog'. I explain how I was able to create continuity from one lifetime to another over 2,600 years.
do we carry over motivation to awaken and spiritual 'progress' from one life to another ?
