In this episode, you give us a beautiful metaphor, that of a wave that forgots both that it has always been the ocean, and the circumstances of the wave it "was" prior to "becoming" this one.
Well, to me it has always been a mystery that a wave recognizing during its ephimeral space-time existence its real identity as the ocean (or rather, the ocean recognizing the wave as a temporary emanation), does not prevent, as you say, the ocean from emanating more ignorant waves. This seems like self-sabotage, or an unfair, absurd game. A dear and awakened friend conceives reincarnations as a process where (and I am using his terminology here) "alignment with Truth" is preserved in the form of "structural tendencies" that subside as the core of every new incarnated adventure.
You are welcome, I'm glad that you found benefit from my words.
The joyful reality that we often miss with each incarnation is that we have the opportunity to awaken. People fret about this and that, thinking that it is all real, not realizing the fundamental obvious reality that surrounds each and every moment, that we are always in a state of flux, never static, never real. We can carry our realizations from one lifetime to another; though, we seldom take the necessary effort to imprint our consciousness through meditative practice and this process of discovering who we really are.
It is as my master, Namkhai Norbu said frequently, that we need to find a way for our mind to enter the Nature of Mind. This means that we stop fantasizing about everything and get real. This is how we awaken.
If we think that it is not important to awaken, that is fine. That's how we have been for an eternity and we can keep doing this cycle of tremendous suffering. If we realize how completely useless all that is, we can take steps to become liberated. The only way to do this is to first Aspire to Awaken. That aspiration can be carried with us until we have the ability to remove ourselves from the uselessness of cyclic existence.
Thank you, Robert.

I would appreciate any word on this, Robert.

Beautiful. Thank you very much for the thorough reply:)
